The Council has partnered with Furner’s Hotel and Coles to reconstruct and upgrade the car parking area from King Edward Street through to and behind the Coles Supermarket.

The Council has partnered with Furner’s Hotel and Coles to reconstruct and upgrade the car parking area from King Edward Street through to and behind the Coles Supermarket.

Work is about to commence and includes improved access, provision of a walkway, reseal, drainage, lighting and landscaping, and paving of the undercover laneway.

The existing public toilet block will be closed from 6 February 2017, the toilets will be demolished and a new facility constructed in its place. The nearest public toilets are located in Car Park Lane behind the Post Office.

While the contractor is required to maintain access and a proportion of parking, there will be disruption to parking and the Council asks for your cooperation in adhering to any directions or signs during the construction phase.

The Council will take over management of the car park on completion with a two-hour time limit implemented. Long-term parking will still be available in the parking area between the Church of England and McDonald’s on Kings Parade, Ulverstone.
